I create work that is heavily related to my personal family relationships using materials such as wool and thread. The technique I most commonly use, knitting, is important as the process is a fond memory from when I was a young child. I mainly use soft materials that are comfortable, to create familiar objects that the viewer can easily make connections with from their own childhood. I draw the inspiration from footage that my dad filmed from when I was born until when I was around 5 years old, from holidays, christmas’, family bbq’s and birthdays.
